What A Rotten Week…

On Friday (1/7) I discovered a large "lump" on Bull‘s neck, to the right of his "adam’s apple". We quickly brought Bull to the Vet’s, and he stayed overnight for treatment & tests.

The best case scenario was that he had pneumonia, and required antibiotics and/or hospitalization. The worse case scenario was that he had a tumor, and didn’t have long to live…

Well, sad to say, it looks like it’s the latter. We’re waiting for one more test result to come in, but the Vet, Dr. Guerino, has a feeling it won’t be good news.

We brought Bull home, and are playing it by ear. So, as long as he stays comfortable he’ll be at home with his family.

We are all trying to come to terms with this devastating news, and trying to be calm for Bull’s sake. Morgan doesn’t seem to realize that anything is going on, except that he’s been to his Grandmother’s house a lot lately. What a rotten week it has been… *sigh*

Morgan’s Milestones…

These past few days have been full of milestones for Morgan.

On Thursday (12/30) Morgan cut his second tooth!! Now, he has a matching pair of bottom teeth. :) ! We could see it coming up for a few weeks, and it finally broke through. Now we have the top teeth to look forward to and then… :-D

Today Morgan took his first unassisted steps!! He was really proud of himself, he giggled and got all excited. We were excited too… :) !! I have to admit that it will be nice when he’s got the hang of walking and we don’t have to carry him everywhere. Hopefully he’ll want to walk by himself and not want us to carry him still. He’s getting so heavy!!

He continues to grow & learn, and has gotten good at feeding himself finger foods. He especially likes eating cookies, and enjoys begging food from his Mom’s plate. :) He’s like a little baby bird begging for food… It’s amazing that he will eat spicy food with no problem and comes back for more. Wow.

Morgan is a healthy 14 month old, and will have his 15 month check up at the end of January. We are not looking forward to this visit as it is the last time, for a while, he will be getting shots. *sigh* I hate seeing my baby in such pain, but it’s better than having him die from something that we can prevent… I’ll let you know how everything goes.

Morgan’s First Tooth!

It’s official! Morgan got his first tooth on 11/27/99, his second is not that much far behind. It turns out that November 27th is also my late maternal Grandfather’s birthday as well. Wow…

So, I guess was wrong. (Oh no!) He did get teeth before he walked on his own. Oh well. ;)

He’s been dealing well with teething, only requiring ibuprofen a couple of times a day. He dislikes any sort of pain medication that’s cherry flavored. I don’t blame him, whoever came up with that flavor doesn’t have any taste buds. It’s that nasty…

Well, that’s all for now. We continue to enjoy being his parents, and he enjoys being our child.
