*Happy Sigh*

! Well, we finally got our DSL back on Morgan’s birthday, October 26th. Boy, was that a big relief for us! We’d been having to make due with dial-up for 6 weeks, and that was 6 weeks too long! You never fully appreciate something until it is gone. Too true! So, now that we have it back we’re happy again. All I know is that surfing the web sucks when all the connection you have is a dial-up one. Plus, downloading anything was next to impossible. Now I can make up for lost time.

Morgan’s birthday party at school went better than I thought it would… Thankfully. His schoolmates, Pookey, me, and his teachers, were there to sing "Happy Birthday" to him, and the smile he had on his face while we all sang was priceless. His favorite gifts seem to be the basketball & football we got him, though now he wants a soccer ball as well. It’s amazing how kids seem love the gifts they get, but then are always onto new gifts they want. *sigh* Kids!

We’re all set for our first Halloween in our new home. A ton of candy has been bought, and Morgan has his Spider-man costume to wear when Pookey takes him out trick-or-treating, so we’re good to go. I have a good feeling that Morgan will have a good trick-or-treating experience in the area we just moved to, and that we’ll have more than a handful of trick-or-treaters visit us finally. I always loved going trick-or-treating when I was a kid, and there was nothing more satisfying that bringing home a good haul of candy. Mmmmm… Candy.

Happy 8th Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday To You!!!
Happy Birthday To You!!!
Happy Birthday Dear Morgan!!!
Happy Birthday To You!!!

Lots of love,

Mom & Dad

It really boggles my mind that it’s been 8 whole years since the miracle of Morgan came into our lives. That eight years ago today I had just delivered my first (and currently only) born, and was, by this time, recovering from the accomplishment. I still remember, with perfect clarity, how happy I was to have our child safely delivered. That my yearning for a child of my own had, after 5 looong years of infertility treatments, finally been satisfied. *happy sigh* These are the thoughts that keep me from going stark-raving mad when he has asked for something for the millionth time, or is screaming his frustration at the top of his lungs. Otherwise he would have never made it to his eighth birthday today.

;)

Dial-Up Hell…

56k We’ve been stuck in dial-up hell ever since we moved to our new home… It’s been six loooooong weeks. We’ve been waiting for AT&T, and Verizon (since we’re officially in Verizon’s "territory", so they have to coordinate it), to get their thumb out of their asses, and turn on our DSL. *sigh*

I remember when we first had internet access, and there was no such thing as a broadband connection, so we had no choice but to put up with the slowness of dial-up access. Remember the days when it took well over an hour to download 1 MB? I do. At least then, we had no clue what we were missing. We were blissfully ignorant. *sigh* Those were the days.

Today is another story entirely… My email, internet browsing, and website uploading are so slow it’s all I can do not to scream at it to hurry up. Plus, the fact that dial-up by its very nature isn’t "always on" sucks, since the few times a day that I actually connect to get my email generally turns into a lesson in impatience for me. Damn all those spam messages! So, if you call me, and my phone’s voicemail picks up right away you can be sure that I am online trying to get my email. *sigh* I guess this will make me appreciate my broadband connection more, but I could definitely do without my visit to dial-up hell.
