Home Sweet Home!!!
We got some really sweet news yesterday evening… It looks like our dream to purchase our own home will finally come true!!! Granted, we’re still early in the mortgage process, but the loan officer from TexasLending.com said that we basically had the loan for the amount we put in for. *happy sigh* I am so excited about finally getting our own home, that I am on cloud 9, and bouncing off the walls. I’m sure that I will eventually drive Pookey crazy with my excitement, but he’s used to how I am when I get excited about something. At any rate, he’ll recover. lol! I just hope that we can have the loan secured quickly, and find a house before our lease for the apartment we are currently in is up for renewal.
I also hope that nothing fouls up this wonderful opportunity for us. We’ve been stuck in this damned apartment for way too long, and had I know then what I know now, I would have never moved here in the first place. Apartment living is just not for us, but it’s mostly because of Morgan. In an apartment that has another one below it, I have to censor his actions way too much. Granted he has autism, but in every other way he is an active 7 (soon to be 8!) year old boy, and all that entails. Which means he’s constantly in motion, and he really needs a yard to help burn some of that energy off. Definitely!!! I’m sure the older couple will be relieved to see us go, but hopefully they won’t get upstairs neighbors who are worse than we could ever be. They’ve been really nice about the noise Morgan generates, so it’s made an almost unbearable place to live somewhat tolerable.
What I’m mainly looking for in a house is that it’s well maintained, and has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a decently sized yard, central air, and a two car garage. Everything else is up in the air. I will have my hands full looking for that one house that makes me happy, but it will be worth it in the end. Kind of like giving birth… It sucks while you’re going through it, but afterward you have a sweet little baby for all of your efforts. I just have to keep that in mind.
