Duck!!!

We have a small stream behind our apartment building, and today I noticed that the first ducklings of the season have finally hatched! There were nine tiny, fuzzy, and so very cute mallard ducklings following their mom upstream. I had to smile with the joy I felt seeing them. It’s another sign that spring has sprung. I always love seeing the many ducks that shepherd their ducklings up, and down, the stream throughout the summer, and seeing how quickly their babies grow.
On a really disturbing note: My 3rd floor neighbors have sunk to a new low… First they were playing their stereo in the morning so loud that it would wake me from a sound sleep, and after two, or three, times of the rental office people talking to them they finally stopped doing it. Then there was a single incident of someone urinating from their balcony. *sigh* On Sunday I was out on my balcony, when I heard the unmistakable sound of a BB gun being shot. When I stood up, and looked around, I saw that these assholes had shot 3 sparrows with it, and were going to shoot more. I proceeded to yell at them, and had Pookey immediately call the rental office to report it. I got a "sorry!" from one of the idiots on the balcony. I told them they should not be apologizing to me, but to the birds they just killed, and threatened them with the police. It must of really scared them since someone came down 5 minutes later, and picked up all three of the bird bodies. Bastards.
What the hell is wrong with people?! It constantly amazes me that people don’t stop to think about what they are going to do before they do it, see that it is a totally evil thing to do, and then not do it. I guess as long as it entertains them, and no one is really around to see it, then it’s ok to do it. Which is total bullshit. Wrong+wrong=wrong. It appears to me that people in Texas don’t feel that animals deserve the right to be left alone. It’s like they feel they can do anything to them because they’re "just" animals. It’s just sad… Fucking sad.
